The Firm has a team of lawyers specialized in tax matters that provide consulting services and representation in administrative proceedings before the tax authorities, as well as in litigation before the Federal Tax and Administrative Justice Court and other Federal Courts (particularly in amparo proceedings).

One of the specializations of the tax department in which the Firm has developed vast experience is the area of international tax. This area includes the causation of, and mechanisms and forms of paying taxes by foreign companies and individuals in Mexico, where knowledge about the scope and interpretation of the Double Taxation Treaties to which Mexico is a party is essential.

As an important activity of our tax consultancy, the Firm has been successful in obtaining resolutions of the tax authorities confirming the interpretation of different provisions of the Federal tax legislation.

In general, the tax department of the Firm plays an important preventive role, collaborating closely with the corporate and contract areas in the preparation of legal strategies and structures focused on the needs of our clients in matters such as mergers, acquisitions and project finance.
