EDITORIAL: The year 2010 is underway and, as on prior occasions, we must refer to the economic situation affecting our country. On this occasion we need to mention that, according to the reports of the Bank of Mexico, beginning with the third quarter of fiscal year 2009 there was a recovery of productive activity. This was primarily the result of the beginning of the reactivation of the global economy, which is reflected in the improved economic status of Mexican manufacturing exports, automotive production, trade, and transportation. Currently there is moderate optimism concerning the evolution of the national economy, although it is clear that Mexico will have to move forward on structural reforms in order to develop a more competitive economy.
