Edmond Frederic Grieger
Partner of Von Wobeser y Sierra, S.C. Edmond Grieger has been a part of the firm since 1998. He is the Head Partner in regards to our Energy and Environmental Practices. He specializes in environmental and energy law and has provided legal counsel to some of the most important transnational, Fortune 500 enterprises and local companies as well as the Mexican Government. Furthermore, he has broad experience related to disputes in these areas and has substantial know-how and expertise in the practice areas of Constitutional & Administrative Proceedings, Government Procurement. He has professional and/or academic first hand experience in some of the most important cites of the world including: Berlin, Mainz, Frankfurt, Heidelberg and Mexico City.
Environment, Energy & Natural Resources
Edmond has been involved in some of the most important matters related to Energy and Environment in Mexico. As Head Partner of Energy and Environment, he provides counseling with respect to environmental impact authorizations and audits, waste management, air pollutant emissions, water consumption, waste water treatment and discharges, environmental site assessments, litigation arising from the matters listed above, among other areas. The foregoing in connection with or originating from the day to day basic activities of our clients, as well as from acquisition projects, touristic developments, real estate operations and administrative procedures initiated by the federal and local environmental authorities.
Additionally, he provides counsel on the planning, negotiation, and operation of project concerning the energy sector, specifically including renewable energy projects originated from wind, solar, geothermal, bioenergy and hydroelectric sources. In this regard he advises its clients from the starting point to plan and develop these projects, including: (i) Site assessment, selection and execution of the corresponding agreements with the land owners; (ii) Administrative procedures before local, state and federal authorities in order to obtain the applicable authorizations for the projects; (iii) advise and execution in order to obtain the corresponding energy generation permits; (iv) execution of the corresponding grid connection, transmission and service agreements; and (v) negotiation and execution of PPAs with public or private off takers.

He has a broad level of experience in the counseling in matters dealing with Government Procurement and has counseled the Mexican Government in the prevention of corruption. Additionally he has worked on creating and implementing strategies that favor transparency in regards to: bids, negotiations and business transactions between the government and its main suppliers. Furthermore, he has profound expertise in Constitutional & Administrative Proceedings and has successfully represented his clients defending their interests before federal and local authorities.
